Europe People

During my time in Europe this past summer, I also photographed a lot of people. Below are some of my favorite pictures of people from Madrid, Spain, Barcelona, Spain, Paris, France, Venice, Italy, and Rome, Italy.

The images were created with a Canon R5 using a 15-35mm, 24-70mm, or 70-200mm lens, or an iPhone 12 Pro Max. The pictures were edited in Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop.

Berkeley, California

Over the past several months, I completed a master’s degree at UC Berkeley. During that time I developed a running collection of photographs from Berkeley, California. Berkeley gave me so much in my short time there, and I’m grateful for the experience. I fell in love with the weather, the energy…I just loved it.

The last picture features a man I met one morning. He seemed to be having a tough time, so I asked how he was. He said he was feeling a little depressed and we ended up talking for about 30 minutes. I learned how smart he is (he could code in five different languages), how he loves his family, and how he misses his seven year-old daughter. His name is Brandon and I’m glad I met him.

San Francisco, California

During the course of the three-day weekend for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I went to San Francisco, California with two friends. We photographed the Golden Gate Bridge, downtown San Francisco, and the East side of San Francisco. It was an awesome experience!

All the photographs were created using a Canon 5D Mark IV along with a 16-35mm lens. The wide-angle provided some challenges for the street photography, but it forced me to get creative and make use of what I had available.

Woolsey Fire, Malibu, California

Last week I drove to Malibu, California at sunset to photograph some of destruction of the recent Woolsey Fire in Southern California. The fire burned to the coast. I started photographing along the PCH until I stumbled upon a small community of houses where I came across several houses that got burned down. It was an incredible experience that makes you consider all the things it’s easy to take for granted.

All the photographs were taken with a Canon 7D Mark II along with a 24-70mm lens. The photos were predominantly edited using Adobe Lightroom in combination with Nik Color Efex Pro.
